The South Valley Industrial Collaborative will host a virtual quarterly meeting on Friday, Feb. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The topics to be discussed include a review of SVIC’s accomplishments and commitment to the region, featuring Bruce Nicotero, outgoing board chair and current secretary.
“From Action Plan to Reality” is the title of incoming chair Rodney Wilson’s recap of SVIC’s vision and goals.
Director Darrin Monteiro of California Dairies will provide a brief legislative update, and consultant Aditi Goel will offer an update on the regional training center feasibility study.
Next will be a look at water quality issues in the Central Valley, featuring Lisa Walsh of Hydrite Chemical and Dax Brott, owner of BMI Mechanical Inc.
The final discussion will be led by Lance Lippincott, CEO of the Kings County Economic and Workforce Development Corporation, with Adam Peck, executive director at the Workforce Investment Board of Tulare County, discussing how the community can encourage students to consider manufacturing as an occupation.
“It has been an honor to serve as chair of the SVIC,” Nicotero noted. “Even in the midst of COVID we are working to make a difference and enhance the level and quality of industry in the South Valley.”
