“We are excited to be able to welcome prospective students to campus and to provide information and guidance as they begin their college journey,” said Krista Brooks, director of undergraduate admission.
Potential students and their families get a feel for the main FPU campus by touring Stienert Campus Center, the home of the cafeteria, the Campus Life Office and a popular game room; as well as Alumni Hall, with its coffeeshop and bookstore; as well as facilities housing classrooms, science labs, the fitness center, gymnasium, Academic Success Center and more. Visitors also learn about applying to FPU, academic programs and basic financial aid.
Many protocols are in place to promote safety during this time of COVID-19. All meetings take place outdoors and participants wear masks and practice social distancing. For student-athletes, coaches may opt to join a tour or meet with prospects outside in Alumni Plaza (The Forest) and may also extend the tour route to include outdoor athletics facilities such as the tennis courts and baseball, soccer and track fields.
Prospective students who take a campus tour receive a $40 application fee waiver and some FPU swag. Campus Visits are Free of Charge, but must be scheduled and confirmed at least 48 hours in advance. Currently no drop-ins/walk-ins can be taken. All surfaces are sanitized after each visit and masks and hand sanitizer are on hand for guests.
Tours are being scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. One tour takes place at a time with individual family groups of no more than five people. Each tour must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance—walk-ins are not accepted. All tours are free. Find more information at experiencefpu.com/visit-campus
Not comfortable coming to campus? “We do offer an online tour as well as virtual meetings with admission counselors and whole slate of virtual events,” Brooks said.
