Ginny Wilson and Beckie Ballew Nava both have long histories of taking captivating pictures. Wilson has taken photos on her travels all around the world and loves to work with light. Nava has a passion for nature, capturing local beauty.
The photographers have joined forces to present “The Valley and Beyond” at the Brandon-Mitchell Gallery, located in the Center for Spiritual Living, 117 S. Locust, Visalia, in September and October. The public can see the show during the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Visalia from 5-8pm on October 5.
Wilson will share some of her stories on being in the right place at the right time to find just the right picture. She also will have matted/unframed photos to sell at “garage sale” prices since she is trying to downsize her sizable collection now that she has moved into a smaller home in Visalia.
Travels have always drawn Nava to glorious sunsets and sunrises and views of nature’s endless possibilities. She seeks serenity behind the viewfinder, often inspired as she sees the world at a different angle and light than others do.
The Brandon-Mitchell Gallery is open during First Friday art walks, after Sunday services at 11:30am, and by calling ahead at 559 625-2441.
