Macareno Picks Up Endorsements, To Hold Meet & Greet

The Vasquez Family will hold a Community Meet and Greet at their Mexican deli and store La Mejor in Farmersville for Ruben Macareno, a candidate for State Assembly on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The Farmersville Meet and Greet is the fifth in as many weeks. The campaign has had events in Tulare, Dinuba, Porterville, Visalia and has more scheduled until election day.

During the Porterville event, sponsored by the Latino Democrats of Tulare County, Porterville City Councilwoman Virginia Gurrola announced that she had endorsed Macareno for State Assembly. Gurrola will also hold a fundraiser for Macareno in October.

“I am humbled to have the endorsement of someone who is a long time elected official and dedicated to her community,” said Macareno. “She sets the standard for public service.”

Gurrola joins a long list of Macareno endorsements of elected officials that include Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, Tulare Councilwoman Maritsa Castellanoz, Farmersville Councilman Greg Gomez, Lindsay Board of Education President Perla Soria, Visalia Trustee Juan Guerrero and others.

“Meeting and hearing people up front makes the responsibility of this job real. It should not only be about lobbyists, special interest and statistics and data but how votes in Sacramento directly affect those you represent,” said Macareno.

Macareno, a Visalia resident, has deep ties to Farmersville. He attended Farmersville schools from kindergarten to eighth grade. He was student body president at George L. Snowden School when Macareno attended there.

The Saturday event will be held from 4 to 6pm. Refreshments and finger foods will be provided. A DJ offer entertainment.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information email: ruben.macareno@yahoo.com or call 559-308-9464.
