For those who have always wanted to work at a ballpark, the Rawhide is searching for friendly, customer-oriented people in need of a summer job. And this year, job seekers can also get their resume in front of two other great local organizations.
The Rawhide will hold their annual job fair at Rawhide Ballpark, 300 N. Giddings Street in Visalia this Saturday, February 13, from 9-11 am. Positions are available in a variety of areas including concessions, food preparation, retail and ushering.
Last year, 120 Tulare and Kings County residents earned jobs out of more than 600 applicants, and received valuable experience in the customer service industry.
In addition, the Rawhide are proud to partner with Visalia Parks & Rec and ProYouth HEART for their Job Fair – both organizations will have tables at the event, and will also be recruiting potential staff members.
The Parks & Rec Department will be seeking new program leaders, aquatics team members, and other positions, while ProYouth will look for applicants for all six of their core programs.
“We’re excited to bring back and also hire new members into our Rawhide Family,” said Food & Beverage Coordinator Jerry Verastegui. “We’re also proud to partner with Parks & Rec and ProYouth, who are both great local organizations. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.”
Rawhide General Manager Jennifer Pendergraft also stressed the importance of a friendly game-day staff.
“Everyone who works here is responsible for making our fans feel like they’re part of our family,” Pendergraft said. “The fan experience during Rawhide games is among the best in all of professional baseball, and our game-day staff has a tremendous hand in that.”
The Rawhide season consists of 70 home games over the course of five months, beginning in early April and ending in early September. They also host a number of other events, including the CIF Central Section Championships, MMA Cage Fights, IrishFest and more.
For a head start in applying, prospective staff members are encouraged to pre-register at RawhideBaseball.com. To pre-register, complete the application located on the homepage and return to the ticket office on Giddings St.
Applicants may also scan and email their application to jobfair@rawhidebaseball.com or fax back to (559) 739-7732, ATTENTION: JOB FAIR. Come to the job fair prepared with a copy of a completed application and resume.
Plenty of free parking is available at the City of Visalia parking lot at Giddings and Center Streets, just a half-block from the main ballpark entrance.
