Valley Oak SPCA is offering new adoption specials for seniors, senior pets and military personnel.
“In an effort to find new homes for more animals, we are pleased to announce an expansion to our Pets for Seniors program and new adoption programs for our service personnel and senior pets,” said Tami Crawford, executive director.
The Pets for Seniors program is designed for those people 55 years or older who would like to adopt a pet. Pets for Seniors adoption fees are $20 for cats and $25 for dogs – for pets arriving at the SPCA shelter already spayed or neutered. For any pets that the SPCA spays or neuters, adoption fees are $60 for cats and $125 for dogs.
The Silver Muzzle Club is to help re-home senior cats and dogs, ages 5 years and older. Senior animals make great pets and have lots of love to share. Senior pets may be adopted for $5 off adoption prices.
The Military Service program is designed for active, retired and veteran military personnel who would like to adopt a pet. Military service personnel can adopt a dog or cat at 15% discount. Each adoption also includes a free gift of pet apparel, toy or grooming supplies.
In addition to the cats and kittens available at its shelter, Valley Oak SPCA has cats for adoption at Petsmart in Visalia and Porterville.
Valley Oak SPCA is open Monday and Wednesday from 9:30am to 6pm, and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from noon to 3pm. Call 651-1111 for more information.
