Mavericks Coffee House will welcome Belinda Gail back to Visalia, her longtime hometown, with a 7pm show on Friday, June 6. The seven-time Western Music Association (WMA) Female Performer of the Year will perform songs from her new, critically acclaimed album, Granite Mountain. Now residing with her husband, Bob Lorbeer, in Prescott, Arizona, Gail is looking forward to coming back to Visalia to perform and to see old friends and family.
Gail has also won the Academy of Western Artists (AWA) Female Vocalist of the Year twice; WMA’s Traditional Duo/Group Award three times with the late Curley Musgrave; WMA’s Traditional Album of the Year Red Rock Moon with Musgrave; and most recently, was named by American Cowboy Magazine as one of the top 50 Country and Western Entertainers of all time, along with the likes of Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash and Don Edwards – a pretty good showing for a cowgirl from Visalia.
“She reminds her legions of faithful fans that she is a cowgirl, and she can yodel, sing like a bird, and break your heart with her renditions of great western songs,” said fellow singer Juni Fisher.
Jack Hannah of the Sons of the San Joaquin described Gail as “a unique talent, and a welcome addition to the world of authentic western music.”
